Camping Part II… The Hammock.

Yes. The hammock deserves its own post.

I’ve never really been a fan of the hammock. Any hammock for that matter. How do you get in and out of them with grace and dignity? I’m so fearful of falling on my face every time I try to get in and out of one. Not Jeramy… He gets in and falls right to sleep.

All the girls love the hammock! Every year Monika and I have to get hammock pictures! Where to put the hammock is always the number one question when we first arrive! Brian taught the girls about force vector physics stuff… They really just wanted to swing fast! πŸ˜‰

But this year… I decided to give the hammock and try. I thought it out, and decided if I could get in it right… I might be able to hide and get a break from kids! Soooo,Β when no one was looking… I not so gracefully got in!

Here are some images of my vantage point…

Oh boy… I’ve been found!

And sweet talked.

I called Monika over… my little spy was out in no time flat!

Next installment of the riveting camping series is going to be about… The creek! And there was some skinny dipping! πŸ˜‰

you’ve got the BEST ankles! πŸ™‚

SKINNING DIPPING!!!! how did i miss that?

Grover Hot Springs 2012

We went camping twice in one year! Thats a record for us non camping people! I’m even looking for a new tent! Have you seen how big these tents can be? They are actually calling them “Tent Cabins” I totally think we should get one! πŸ˜‰

Jeramy kept calling this trip a vacation. I don’t really consider camping a vacation, but this trip was SO fun and we have So many funny stories and memories! It actually did feel like a vacation! And the most memorable moments I was without a camera! One was after a mile and a half hike to a waterfall. We stopped to play in a pool… to our right it looked as if someone or something tried to build and dam or a bridge. Brady and I were discussing if there were beavers in the area when Grace yelled, “Look! A beaver!” WHAT? I look over and see a very still beaver. It was as still as a log! I was getting ready to jump in front of the kids, sure the beaver was getting ready for an attack, when Brian asked where the beaver was. RIGHT THERE!!! Brian looks over, points and asks. “What? That log?” I swear to you people it looked JUST like a beaver! I am so mad I didn’t have my camera! I still crack up thinking of that beaver/log on the rock.

Maybe you had to be there? It had eyes and a nose and it looked like its front paw was in front… never mind! Just trust me! It totally looked like a beaver!

I’ll save the other stories for another post. How about some pictures…

The mud pie kitchen

Maggie could hike and climb anywhere in these boots!

Moms of pre-teens? Are you feeling me right now? πŸ˜‰

Gottcha!

Jillian’s way-too-big-still-must-wear-boots

This kid has never been so dirty in all her life and she was loving it!

It’s fish! Or… a HUGE strawberry marshmallow.

We tried the super big flavored marshmallows… SUPER YUMMY! S’more with banana flavored marshmallow?? YUP! SO YUMMY!

If you could only hear the cackle that goes with this picture!

She had to have washed her hands a few dozen times! Not because she was done making mud pies or because she didn’t like being dirty… she just like the hand washing station.

More tomorrow… Maybe I’ll share how our camping buddies keep their tent warm at night. Or maybe you don’t want to know… πŸ˜‰

such a great trip. i can’t wait to see more!

LOVE!!!

Where is part II and III????

Busy Bee’s!

We’ve been a busy little family these days! Not only do we have normal everyday things such as life and editing, today was that last day of school for Mary Rose and Jane. ANDΒ it’s Jane’s birthday! I’m telling you! The last week of school is crazy busy! But, this year was special… its Mary Rose’s last day of elementary school! Her promotion ceremony was yesterday and she was one of the 5 kids picked to read her speech. She worked hard on her speech at school and at home. She went into her room for hours and came out beaming! “Welp! I finished it! But, you can’t read it. I want you to hear me at the promotion ceremony!” The teachers hadn’t read the speeches and didn’t pick the speakers yet, so I was praying that she would get picked! AND SHE DID!

She worked so hard to get on the Honor Roll again. We just asked her to raise her math grade and to DO her best, but she had her own goals and she surpassed them! Thats my girl! She wanted to not only stay on the Honor Roll, but she wanted that pesky math grade up! And she did it! Whoo Hoo!

I can’t believe my little Mary Rose is all finished with elementary school! She JUST started kindergarten! How did this happen?

Speaking of growing up! Its Janies Birthday today! I’ll give her her own Birthday post in a few days!

A Sneak Peek of a….

Wedding. Never say never. Right?

So, sometimes I do weddings. πŸ˜‰

I wanted to get a little peek up ASAP. With tomorrow being Sunday, and Monday a holiday… I didn’t want to wait three days before a peek! So here you go…

I had so much fun today! I felt like one of the family. It was wonderful! And they kept thanking me!!! Oh my goodness! I was so happy to be there!

Teresa Waller

Oh my goodness Sharon! If these 3 pics are any indication of what is to come, you have already blown our socks off. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being such an amazing photographer and capturing Jeremiah and Briana’s wedding! You have blessed us immensely!

My Girls + Water Balloons =

A mess. ;P

Jillian had the most fun! She picked up one purple water balloon and carried it around for quite a long time. The other girls, well… I really wished I’d filmed it! They would yell at each other for not standing still and nearly every balloon Maggie picked up would instantly POP! Which after a few balloons, caused her to be quite frustrated! I’m not kidding! Jane would yell at Mary Rose for running and Mary Rose would yell at Jane for her own lack of aim. It was hysterical! I finally got them to toss the balloons to each other. Then finally we decided to go on a walk.

And I really want to do a session with water balloons! I promise it will work better with someone else’s kids! Summer opens up so many fun options for family sessions!

Have a great weekend. As I go about my weekend I’ll be thinking about the loved ones my family has lost… I’ll be thinking of ChaChi and saying prayers for my family. And I’ll be stoping by my great grandfathers grave site on my way to a BBQ. So… have a great weekend, but don’t forget why we have this extra day.

God Speed.
