Welcome Precious Girl! ~ A Homegrown Birth Story

I’m not going to lie. I could have babies till Jesus comes back! No joke. Not that I love being pregnant. I don’t, I’m a mess! Super sick and grumpy. But, I do love newborns.

I love anything and everything newborn!

I was absolutely thrilled when Andrew and Cassandra asked me to photograph the birth of their sweet girl! Labor photography is incredible! I’d love to do more of it and I will someday, but with all my kiddos… its very difficult to actually work it all out.

All day I was waiting for the call. Andrew was keeping me updated and after a few hours I felt like I needed to go to the hospital. You never know with these little babies! Plus! I am notorious for getting lost!

When I arrived the room was calm and filled with lovely natural light.

I was so excited!!!

But, not as exited as her Mommy and Daddy!

Lots of family came by for a hug and the family that couldn’t stop by was kept well informed. πŸ˜‰

I always laughed at this chart. And the “Numeric Pain Scale” I hated that! I’d always be scared to say it was too high or low! What if what you thought was a 8 was really a 5?

Hey Andrew… this isn’t the button to push for ice chips. πŸ˜‰

I’m not sure if this was texting family or playing Candy Crush… πŸ˜‰

Okay, no joke. This was right after quite a bit of time pushing.

For someone who wan’t going to look… πŸ˜‰

This is THE BEST!

Here are Dad’s feet in between contractions…

And here are Dad’s feet during a contraction. I’m so glad her was wearing athletic shoes with good traction! πŸ˜‰

And after hours and hours and hours of pushing….

Sweet Miss C cried and cried till she was placed into her mommas arms and then she instantly relaxed and closed her eyes.

Grandma and one Auntie.

This Auntie here was an amazing birth coach. The other Auntie brought cupcakes. I think both were needed to complete the day. πŸ˜‰

After a quick bath Dad gets a snuggle

Stay tuned for this sweet Miss’ newborn session.
