My Kind of Dramatic!

Dramatic lighting! 😉

Just a couple of images today. Kinda different for me, but I really like them.

I really am happy about the time change, but MAN! Losing that hour of sleep really kicked my butt this year! How about you?

Like!!

I still haven’t recovered! Asleep at midnight or later wach night. NEED a nap by 3… Can’t wait until next week!

Hello? Anyone Out There?

At least I am consistently inconsistent! Right?

Sorry.

To be honest I’ve been super busy! 5 kids is no joke and with homeschooling and hospital stays… blogging gets put on the back burner. AND Brady has been doing more of his math on the computer and he does math during the best blogging time of the day! Punk! 😉

My goal is to get back into the groove of blogging and share more of my personal Homegrown stories.

My baby boy (13) is away at a youth conference and boy do I miss that guy. Jeramy misses him, and the girls don’t stop talking about him, it’s only a weekend, but its rough! The girls felt guilty for going to Pajamba (Jamba) Juice without him. It was sweet! People are always saying how rough he must have it being the only boy… He doesn’t see it that way, thankfully, but one great thing about being the only boy is you have a lot of sisters to welcome you home when you go away! 😉

For some reason I haven’t picked up my camera much for personal stuff. I kinda sensed that my kids were missing me. Even though I was there, I had a camera in front of my face. I felt engaged and connected, but I was getting the feeling the kids didn’t feel that from me.

Balance. It’s all about balance.

The weather was SO wonderful on friday and on a whim, I asked the girls if we could do a short photo adventure. Much to my delight they were excited! I threw the nearest outfit on Jillian and we hoped in the car!

We live in a beautiful place!

Suisun Valley has a great place called Johns Hauling. I’m not sure what you would call it… John takes just about anything and sells it. Oh the treasures you can find there! We looked around, found a little camera that delighted the girls then set off to find a great photo location.

I had taken the kids to this spot before, but it was a completely different time of year and the mustard wasn’t in bloom… My girls had a blast!

We were on this road for maybe 45 minutes and I didn’t shoot the whole time. I made sure I took the camera away from my face and showed them I was listening… I made sure they knew I was present and just as delighted as they were to be there. Heres what I got…

(Sorry for the million images. If you know me at all, you’d know I have the worst time just picking a few images I love. Trust me this was picking a few!)

Oh my! These are just wonderful! So beautiful!

Beautiful girls! Love the one of Jane putting the flower in her hair!

We’re still here… waiting with bated breath for your next post. And this one did not disappoint! Love hearing about your family adventures. These images are delightful. What a beautiful family you’ve got! So sweet.

Win with Flynn!

How do I begin….we love this family!  We’ve had the joy of their friendship for such a long time and I hope that our lives will be forever intertwined.  Their family vibe is so fun and contagious that you’d be hard pressed to be around them for five minutes without feeling like you are a part of their family….and that true spirit of joy and hospitality comes from the top down.  Now that all the kids are grown and moved out…adding spouses….and even a new little one coming soon, it’s few and far between to catch a moment with everyone together…but let me tell you, when this family joins their collective hilarity…look out!  It’s no holds barred.

We had set a date in december to take some shots of the whole family and the weather been a little hit and miss in the days prior, but wouldn’t you know that mother nature decided to “rain down” in full force on the day of the shoot.  I’m not kidding folks…I’m talking buckets.  But they were real troopers.  Check it out!

I’m sad to say that I’m old enough to remember some of these kids..err….adults as young kids.  What does that make me, huh?  But it’s been so fun to watch them grown into the amazing men and women that they’ve become.

…and it all started here.  Brad and Dorothy were high school sweethearts, and they still have that same spark in their eyes when they look at each other.  It’s a bonafide love story….truly breathtaking!

Did I say hilarity?  They may look composed (well, almost)….but believe me…they are just one step away from hysterical laughter!

It was such a great day hanging out with all of them.  We are honored to call them all friends and we’re grateful for their place in our lives.  Here’s one more…

Sharon love, something weird’s going on with your blog. I’m looking at it on Firefox on my iMac and the text (and white background frame) is all squished to the left while the pictures are their usual gorgeous selves. Just thought I’d let you know. xoxo

I know and it is driving me crazy!!! It’s been a month and when I fix it it goes right back! Or left! 😉 Jeramy is going to call them! That’s for letting me know! XOXOX

Best Jam EVER!

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to post videos properly to my blog! You can’t click on this video to see if full sized, because I’m just not that cool. You CAN, But the images are all wonky. I don’t know whats up, but the video is still pretty darling small!

Yesterday, as I was blogging, the odd flu bug thats going around hit me and I had to stop. Jeramy actually blogged the Flynn’s pic last night. I’m still not feeling 100%, but I wanted to post pictures of the Jam Session. The pics go by pretty fast in the slideshow. I am completely in love with these images. The whole session was so fun! At one point I looked at the clock and couldn’t believe how much time had passed.
