Homegrown Photography » Your Homegrown Stories

Hello? Anyone Out There?

At least I am consistently inconsistent! Right?

Sorry.

To be honest I’ve been super busy! 5 kids is no joke and with homeschooling and hospital stays… blogging gets put on the back burner. AND Brady has been doing more of his math on the computer and he does math during the best blogging time of the day! Punk! 😉

My goal is to get back into the groove of blogging and share more of my personal Homegrown stories.

My baby boy (13) is away at a youth conference and boy do I miss that guy. Jeramy misses him, and the girls don’t stop talking about him, it’s only a weekend, but its rough! The girls felt guilty for going to Pajamba (Jamba) Juice without him. It was sweet! People are always saying how rough he must have it being the only boy… He doesn’t see it that way, thankfully, but one great thing about being the only boy is you have a lot of sisters to welcome you home when you go away! 😉

For some reason I haven’t picked up my camera much for personal stuff. I kinda sensed that my kids were missing me. Even though I was there, I had a camera in front of my face. I felt engaged and connected, but I was getting the feeling the kids didn’t feel that from me.

Balance. It’s all about balance.

The weather was SO wonderful on friday and on a whim, I asked the girls if we could do a short photo adventure. Much to my delight they were excited! I threw the nearest outfit on Jillian and we hoped in the car!

We live in a beautiful place!

Suisun Valley has a great place called Johns Hauling. I’m not sure what you would call it… John takes just about anything and sells it. Oh the treasures you can find there! We looked around, found a little camera that delighted the girls then set off to find a great photo location.

I had taken the kids to this spot before, but it was a completely different time of year and the mustard wasn’t in bloom… My girls had a blast!

We were on this road for maybe 45 minutes and I didn’t shoot the whole time. I made sure I took the camera away from my face and showed them I was listening… I made sure they knew I was present and just as delighted as they were to be there. Heres what I got…

(Sorry for the million images. If you know me at all, you’d know I have the worst time just picking a few images I love. Trust me this was picking a few!)

Oh my! These are just wonderful! So beautiful!

Beautiful girls! Love the one of Jane putting the flower in her hair!

We’re still here… waiting with bated breath for your next post. And this one did not disappoint! Love hearing about your family adventures. These images are delightful. What a beautiful family you’ve got! So sweet.
